Codex Tide

Codex Tide is a complete Divine Office

Commissioned by the Liberal Rite Catholic Church, it was created to provide a mystical and esoteric form of worship, following the hours of the day or the Tides as they were known during Saxon times.

Created by Monsignor Felix, the Codex is offered to All,

For the Greater Glory of God!

The Days of The Week_edited.jpg

The Hours of the Day are Lauds (sunrise), Tierce (mid-morning), Sext (noon)
None (mid-afternoon), Vespers (evening/ sundown), and Compline (night).
They follow the rhythm of monastic prayer but are designed for those who live in the world.
An opportunity to get closer to the rhythm of Church prayer.

Sample Prayers

Canticle of the Night Giving Way to Dawn

In the Night, I have worshipped Thee,
I have sung Thy praises.
I have seen Thy Glory
by the light of the Moon,
in the quiet of the Night.
Yet now the Morning breaks, and Thy mercy rises like
the Sun.
Shadows flee before Thy Face, and the heart awakens
to Thy Light.
O Comfort me!
O Hold me close!

By Thy Bosom carry me,
from darkness into dawn.

Lauds – Canticle of the Rising Sun

Before all the dawn, the hidden fire awakes,
A golden word the silent darkness breaks;
The heavens tremble, veiled in crimson flame,
As light remembers its eternal Name.

From east to west, the newborn glory streams,
A waking world unfolds from sacred dreams;
And Michael stands where dawn and judgment meet,
With a burning sword and radiance at his feet.

O Son of God, whose rising none can withstand—
Command the light, and we shall rise at hand.
